מחירי הפחמן בשווקים הרגולטורים והוולונטרים (Futures contracts)

הסבר למכירי החוזים העתידיים של מחירי הפחמן בשווקים השונים

European Carbon Credit Market

The European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) is a unique carbon credit contract that is traded on exchanges within the European region. This innovative Futures contract facilitates the trading and delivery of EUAs, or European Union Allowances, which are the officially designated emission allowances within the area. Interestingly, each EUA provides the holder with the authority to emit one metric ton of CO2 or equivalent greenhouse gas, making it a powerful tool for managing emissions within the EU.

California Carbon Credit Market

The CCA Futures, also referred to as the "California Cap and Trade Program," involves the physical delivery of greenhouse gas emission allowances for the California Carbon Allowance (CCA) program. As per the provisions of the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, one CCA credit corresponds to one metric ton of C02 equivalent.

Nature Based Carbon Offset

N-GEO futures contracts consist of projects that generate Nature-Based offsets sourced from the Verra registry. These projects belong to the Agriculture, Forestry, or Other Land Use (AFOLU) categories. While Nature-based solutions can make significant contributions to biodiversity conservation, accurately measuring the amount of carbon offset by such projects can be challenging.

Tech Industry Carbon Offset

C-GEO futures contracts consist of offset projects from the Verra registry that are technology-driven and not related to agriculture, forestry, and other land use (AFOLU). These projects are selected based on their alignment with the Core Carbon Principles (CCPs) developed by the Taskforce on Scaling Voluntary Carbon Markets. The CCPs are a set of transparent and consistent standards for carbon credits, which are overseen by the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Markets. In summary, C-GEO is a technology-based carbon futures contract that follows the CCPs.
